Hi all we have been so busy with everything we forgot we started a blog lol. Never mind we'll make sure one of does it regularly from now on. As well now getting a steady flow of relevent children and young people who need our help we've been working on another 3 interesting projects. 'Savifest, Get the Picture and Nicole has been working with BBC to help in the production of a documentary to be aired on Wednnesday 28th March at 9pm on BBC3. It's called 'I never said yes' check its link on BBC website http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01f6sgk
The program sees pips Taylor (presenter) interviewing a range of people including 5 victims, 2 of which including Nicole Campbell from here at SAVI and Sarah Scott wave their anonymity to take full part. I must add both Nicole and Sarah are from Scotland (the brave lol). It explores why so many rapes go unreported and looks around the issues within the system that make the reporting and conviction of this crime so difficult. And this week this is very relevent as one young girl SAVI was helping went through the entire process and was extremely brave in court only to have a n'not proven' verdict given and be left wondering why she bothered as well as being afraid to live life in her community with her rapist walking free.
Some of Get the picture was filmed for the documentary but I don't think they had enough space to include it but don't worry this new program of SAVI's allowing victims to look at their feeling froman abstarct perspective through photography will soon have its own outing as we are having an auction of some of the wondeful pieces made by the children and youths in a couple of weeks. And please don't forget SAVIFEST our annual music gig we have around 60 bands currently competing to perform and it now has it's own webiste to promote itself and the up and coming talent in the Scottish music industry. Go have a nosey at http://www.savifest.com
Well I think you can see how we've been a bit busy but we will keep in touch have fun researching what I've given you here and look out for the next installment Thanks all Annmarie x
