SAVI originally stood for Sexual Assault Victims Initiative and are now known simply as SAVI Kids. SAVI is a registered charity, set up initially to support children/young people and vulnerable adults who have been raped/sexually abused, now supporting children who have endured all types of abuse. Though still specialising in sexual abuse. Its key aim is to keep victims and their families strong and informed whilst awaiting and throughout the trial process and though to recovery.
SAVI Kids achieves this by offering support in the form of buddying through the entire reporting, legal process and recovery process. We also offers befriending for the young person, 24/7 manned helpline, appropriate therapies and an advocacy and general advice service for victims and their families.
SAVI Kids workers are all volunteers and give their time freely to ensure children and their families are not left without support.
